However from listening to your feedback we've learned that many people want to start at the very beginning. That's where this podcast series starts, at the beginning. We'll give you a brief overview of OIC and our web site, and then move on to options basics. Without quickly getting into complicated jargon and abstract concepts, we'll give you an overview of options place in the financial markets, explain how they can be used in broad terms, and then slowly work into some of the first fundamental lessons. Options Trading Volume Increases 41% Setting New Record in 2007
The Options Industry Council (OIC) announced that a new annual volume record was set in 2007 with a total of 2,862,826,218 contracts changing hands, surpassing 2006’s record by 41.18%. Equity options volume reached 2,592,102,961 contracts, exceeding the 1,844,181,918 total equity options volume contracts traded in 2006 by 40.56% percent. Learn more.
